Introduction:
The first time I watched Angelic Layer, I wondered if I could cosplay Hikaru. Almost right away, I thought to myself "Ha! Yeah right!". However, as I became more confident in my cosplay skills and I figured out how to make the costume, I decided to get it a shot and cosplay Hikaru. Afterall, her costume is SO cool and I love her! Also, having my friends put together an Angelic Layer cosplay group was plenty of motivation.

Status:
Everything for this costume has been bought, and the headphones are almost done. I already have the patterns for everything, since I'm remaking everything (I had found a better red spandex so everything is being redone). Sooo... This costume shouldn't take too long, but I'm in no hurry to get it done.

Plans:
This costume is being done for an Angelic Layer cosplay group set up for Sakura Con 2003. I was the first person to decide to cosplay a character from the series, so I got first choice. Soon after, a bunch of friends of mine started choosing costumes they wanted to make until we got an almost-complete cosplay group. So far we have Hikaru, Misaki, Icchan, Wizard and Mao. I won't be wearing it for masquerade, however. I'll be sticking to Dilandau.

Kawaii!:
Hikaru is always descibed as small compared to other angels in Angelic Layer and we all know that the deuses are MUCH bigger than the angels. How is that kawaii? I'm atleast a head shorter than EVERYONE in my Angelic Layer cosplay group! Being short rules! XD

Issues: Bleh. I spent over $50 on red fabrics. First I got a sports fabric, but it wasn't stretchy so I trashed it. Then I got cheap red spandex, but it kept ripping. So I finally forked over $26 and got myself high quality red spandex. It's awesome fabric, but money... >_<
